Bihar Police Constable —

intermediate 18 min read

Central Dogma: DNA → RNA → Protein —

P = Powerhouse → Mitochondria S = Suicide Bag → Lysosome PP = Post office → Golgi apparatus TM = Transport + Manufacturing → ER (Endoplasmic Reticulum)

C = Cell Wall E = (Absent Centriole — यानी E से "Extra absent") V = Vacuole (बड़ी central) C = Chloroplast

— Cell wall, Chloroplast।

PRO = "पहले" (primitive) → Nuclear membrane नहीं EU = "True/सच्चा" (Greek: Eu = well/true) → True nucleus, nuclear membrane हाँ

जब भी "well-organized nucleus with nuclear membrane" जैसी phrase दिखे — सीधे Eukaryotic लिखो।

Rough = Ribosomes = Ribosomes make pRoteins Smooth = Smooth surface = Synthesizes lipids

Step 1 — Keyword

Step 2 — Nickname

Step 3 —

Biology के organelle questions में distractor options हमेशा "wrong organelle, right function" पैटर्न में होते हैं।

समाधान का रास्ता: "Well-organized nucleus with nuclear membrane" → यह eukaryotic cell की exact definition है। Answer: Eukaryotic cells।

Previous Year Question
The cells having well-organized nucleus with a nuclear membrane are designated as
  1. autokaryotic cells
  2. Cheek cells
  3. prokaryotic cells
  4. eukaryotic cells
Solution
Eukaryotic cells have a well-organized nucleus enclosed by a nuclear membrane, along with other membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria and the Golgi apparatus.

Answer: Water।

Previous Year Question
Plant cells change shape by changing the amount of in them, resulting in swelling or shrinking, and therefore in changing shapes.
  1. chlorophyll
  2. carbon dioxide
  3. fat
  4. water
Solution
Plant cells change shape by regulating the amount of water in their vacuoles; water entry causes swelling (turgidity) while water loss causes shrinking (plasmolysis).

Answer: Mitochondria।

Previous Year Question
If lysosomes are also known as the 'suicide bags' of the cell, then which of the following is the powerhouse of the cell?
  1. Mitochondria
  2. Vacuoles
  3. Plastids
  4. Endoplasmic reticulum
Solution
Mitochondria are called the powerhouse of the cell because they produce energy in the form of ATP through cellular respiration.

Answer: Endoplasmic Reticulum।

Previous Year Question
Which function both as a passageway for intracellular transport and as a manufacturing surface?
  1. Plastids
  2. Mitochondria
  3. Endoplasmic reticulum
  4. Ribosome
Solution
The Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) serves as both a manufacturing site (rough ER for proteins, smooth ER for lipids) and a transport network within the cell.

Answer: Two।

Previous Year Question
How many types of endoplasmic reticulum are there in cells?
  1. Five
  2. Three
  3. Four
  4. Two
Solution
There are two types of endoplasmic reticulum: Rough ER (RER), which has ribosomes and is involved in protein synthesis, and Smooth ER (SER), which lacks ribosomes and is involved in lipid synthesis and detoxification.

Answer: Nageli।

Previous Year Question
The term plasma membrane was given by
  1. Robertson
  2. J. Q. Plowe
  3. Nageli
  4. N. Grew
Solution
The term 'plasma membrane' was coined by Carl Wilhelm von Nägeli (Nageli) in 1855, who observed this boundary layer in plant cells.

Answer: Cell Wall।

Previous Year Question
Which of the following maintains the turgidity of the cell?
  1. Cell wall
  2. Vacuoles
  3. Plastids
  4. Lysosomes
Solution
The cell wall provides rigidity and prevents excessive expansion of the cell, thus maintaining turgidity by resisting the turgor pressure created by the vacuole.

समाधान का रास्ता: Chloroplast = photosynthesis के लिए। Answer: Chloroplasts are found only in plant cells, but not in animal cells।

Previous Year Question
From the following, select the statement that is true.
  1. Chloroplast is called the powerhouse of the cell
  2. The Golgi apparatus is found only in animal cell
  3. Chloroplasts are found only in plant cells, but not in animal cells
  4. All cells have a cell wall
Solution
Chloroplasts are exclusive to plant cells and some algae; animal cells do not contain chloroplasts. Mitochondria, not chloroplasts, are called the powerhouse of the cell.
