CTET Paper I अंग्रेज़ी व्याकरण — संज्ञा, क्रिया और काल (Nouns, Verbs & Tenses)

beginner 18 min read

सोचो एक कक्षा की स्थिति: "The teacher's courage inspired the flock of students sitting on wooden chairs."

1. Abstract Noun (भाववाचक संज्ञा)

वे संज्ञाएँ जिन्हें देखा, छुआ, सूँघा, या मापा नहीं जा सकता — केवल अनुभव किया जा सकता है।

उदाहरण: courage, childhood, beauty, honesty, freedom, wisdom, knowledge

पहचान की कसौटी: क्या इसे इंद्रियों से अनुभव किया जा सकता है? अगर नहीं — तो Abstract Noun है।

"Childhood" एक अवस्था है, "courage" एक गुण है — दोनों Abstract हैं। यह CTET में बार-बार पूछा जाता है।

2. Collective Noun (समूहवाचक संज्ञा)

एक इकाई के रूप में प्रयुक्त होने वाले समूह का नाम।

| समूह | Collective Noun | |------|----------------| | पक्षी | flock | | मछलियाँ | shoal / school | | अंगूर | bunch | | शेर | pride | | गाय | herd | | मधुमक्खियाँ | swarm |

महत्वपूर्ण: Collective Noun के साथ Singular Verb आती है जब पूरा समूह एक इकाई की तरह काम करे — "A flock of birds migrates", "A bunch of grapes was lying."

3. Material Noun (द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा)

उस पदार्थ या कच्चे माल का नाम जिससे वस्तुएँ बनती हैं।

उदाहरण: gold, wood, teak, iron, cotton, milk, sand

पहचान की कसौटी: क्या इस पदार्थ से कोई चीज़ बनाई जा सकती है? अगर हाँ — तो Material Noun हो सकता है।

ध्यान दो: "teak" एक Material Noun है (क्योंकि इससे furniture बनता है), पर "chair" एक Common Noun है (वह बनी हुई वस्तु है, कच्चा माल नहीं)।

4. Proper Noun (व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा)

किसी विशेष व्यक्ति, स्थान, या चीज़ का नाम — हमेशा Capital Letter से शुरू होता है।

उदाहरण: Delhi, Ramesh, Ganga, Monday

काल (Tense) — CTET का सबसे चुनौतीपूर्ण क्षेत्र

CTET Paper I में काल के प्रश्न मुख्यतः इन्हीं पर केंद्रित हैं:

Simple Present Tense

नियमित या आदतन क्रियाओं के लिए। Signal words: every day, every morning, always, usually, often, generally.

संरचना: Subject + V1 (s/es for he/she/it)

"Every morning, Suresh goes to school." — "goes" क्योंकि Suresh (He) के साथ 's' लगती है।

Past Perfect Tense

यह CTET का सबसे ज़्यादा पूछा जाने वाला Tense है। जब दो भूतकालीन घटनाएँ हों और तुम्हें यह बताना हो कि कौन सी पहले हुई — उसके लिए Past Perfect प्रयोग होता है।

संरचना: Subject + had + V3 (Past Participle)

Signal words: by the time, before, after, when (दो घटनाएँ हों तब)

उदाहरण:

दोनों वाक्यों में दो घटनाएँ हैं। पहले होने वाली के लिए had + V3 और बाद में होने वाली के लिए Simple Past (arrived, watched)।

Past Perfect बनाम Simple Past — यह भेद परीक्षा में आता है

| स्थिति | सही Tense | |--------|-----------| | दो भूतकालीन घटनाएँ, क्रम महत्वपूर्ण हो | पहली → Past Perfect; दूसरी → Simple Past | | एकल भूतकालीन घटना, "last night / yesterday" के साथ | Simple Past | | "last night" + "has" | गलत संयोजन है, "has" + "last night" कभी नहीं |

Present Perfect बनाम Simple Past

"Has/have + V3" का प्रयोग तब होता है जब घटना का वर्तमान से संबंध हो या समय अनिश्चित हो। "Last night", "yesterday", "in 2010" जैसे specific time expressions के साथ हमेशा Simple Past चाहिए — Present Perfect नहीं।

Past Continuous

"was/were + V-ing" — चल रही क्रिया के लिए।

जब भी Noun का प्रकार पूछा जाए, CAST फ़िल्टर लगाओ: Can you Count it? (गिन सकते हो?) — अगर नहीं, तो Abstract या Material हो सकता है। Are you Able to touch/see it? (देख/छू सकते हो?) — अगर नहीं, तो Abstract। Substance it's made of? (यह किसी पदार्थ का नाम है?) — अगर हाँ, तो Material। Together as a group?

जब भी एक वाक्य में दो भूतकालीन क्रियाएँ हों और "before / by the time / after" हो, तो: पहले हुई क्रिया = had + V3 बाद में हुई क्रिया = Simple Past (V2)

याद रखो: "had" वह क्रिया लेता है जो timeline पर पहले थी।

वाक्य बनाओ: "By the time [A happened], [B had already happened]." → A = Simple Past, B = Past Perfect (had + V3)

"By the time the teacher arrived [Simple Past], the students had answered [Past Perfect]."

यह pattern पहचानने में मानक विधि 30 सेकंड लेती है, यह trick 8 सेकंड।

patternEvery / Always / Usually → Simple Present का संकेत

ये signal words देखते ही Simple Present Tense पक्का करो: every morning / every day / always / usually / often / generally / regularly / seldom / never

तीसरे पुरुष एकवचन (he/she/it/singular noun) के साथ V1 में -s/-es जोड़ो। "Suresh (He) goes" — 'go' नहीं, 'goes'।

यह तुरंत 2 गलत options eliminate कर देता है:

  • Past forms (went, had gone) → eliminate
  • Present Continuous (is going) → eliminate
  • सही: Simple Present (goes/runs/eats)

3 options eliminate, 1 सेकंड में — मानक तरीके से 20 सेकंड की बचत।

eliminationLast night / Yesterday = Never 'has'

"Last night", "yesterday", "in 2020", "last year" — ये specific time expressions देखते ही Present Perfect (has/have + V3) को तुरंत eliminate करो।

"Riya has completed her homework last night." — यह गलत है। "Last night" + "has/have" — यह combination English में अस्वीकार्य है।

इससे options में से एक option बिना सोचे eliminate होता है। CTET में यही trap सबसे ज़्यादा बिछाया जाता है।

मानक विधि: हर option verify करना (35 सेकंड) vs. यह नियम (5 सेकंड में एक option eliminate)।

patternMaterial Noun — 'किससे बना' की कसौटी

जब Material Noun पहचानना हो, तो वाक्य में पूछो: "यह चीज़ किस पदार्थ से बनी है?"

"A carpenter made a chair from teak wood." → Chair किससे बनी? Teak से। इसलिए teak = Material Noun।

→ Proper Noun
  2. क्या यह एक समूह (flock, bunch, herd, team) है? → Collective Noun
  3. क्या यह एक पदार्थ है जिससे चीज़ें बनती हैं (teak, gold, iron)? → Material Noun
  4. क्या इसे इंद्रियों से महसूस नहीं किया जा सकता (courage, childhood, beauty)? → Abstract Noun
  5. बाकी सब → Common Noun

प्रश्न: सही Tense चुनो

  1. "Every/Always/Usually" है? → Simple Present (V1 / V1+s/es)
  2. "Last night/Yesterday" + Perfect form है? → वह option गलत है, eliminate करो
  3. "By the time / Before / After" के साथ दो भूतकालीन घटनाएँ हैं? → पहली घटना = had + V3 (Past Perfect)
  4. अभी जारी क्रिया है? → was/were + V-ing (Past Continuous)
  5. एकल, पूरी, भूतकालीन घटना? → Simple Past (V2)

Signal words पहचानना सबसे तेज़ रास्ता है — grammar rule याद करने से पहले signal word देखो।

हल किए गए PYQs

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Abstract Noun CTET का सबसे बार-बार पूछा जाने वाला Noun type है। "Inspired" को Verb की जगह Noun समझने का trap यहाँ बिछाया गया है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Identify the ABSTRACT NOUN in the sentence: 'Her courage inspired the whole class.'
वाक्य 'Her courage inspired the whole class.' में ABSTRACT NOUN पहचानिए।
  1. her
  2. class
  3. courage
  4. inspired
  1. her
  2. class
  3. courage
  4. inspired
Solutionसमाधान
'Courage' is an abstract noun because it names a quality that cannot be seen or touched. 'Class' is a collective/common noun (a group of people). 'Inspired' is the main verb in the sentence. 'Her' is a possessive pronoun.
'Courage' एक Abstract Noun है क्योंकि यह एक ऐसी गुणवत्ता का नाम है जिसे देखा या छुआ नहीं जा सकता। 'Class' एक Common/Collective Noun है। 'Inspired' वाक्य की मुख्य क्रिया है। 'Her' एक Possessive Pronoun है।

समाधान का रास्ता: पहले "inspired" को देखो — यह वाक्य की main क्रिया है, Noun नहीं। "Her" — Pronoun है। "Class" — Common/Collective Noun हो सकता है। "Courage" — क्या इसे देख या छू सकते हो? नहीं। यह एक गुण है → Abstract Noun। CAST trick लगाओ: गिन नहीं सकते, देख नहीं सकते, पदार्थ नहीं, समूह नहीं → Abstract।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: "By the time" के साथ Past Perfect का प्रयोग — यह CTET का classic Past Perfect प्रश्न है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Fill in the blank with the correct form of the verb: 'By the time the teacher arrived, the students ______ all the questions.'
रिक्त स्थान में सही verb भरिए: 'By the time the teacher arrived, the students ______ all the questions.'
  1. have answered
  2. had answered
  3. answered
  4. were answering
  1. have answered
  2. had answered
  3. answered
  4. were answering
Solutionसमाधान
The sentence describes an action (answering questions) completed BEFORE another past action (teacher arriving). Past Perfect Tense ('had answered') is used for the earlier of two past events. 'Have answered' is Present Perfect. 'Answered' is Simple Past without showing sequence. 'Were answering' (Past Continuous) indicates an ongoing action, not a completed one.
यह वाक्य ऐसी क्रिया को दर्शाता है जो दूसरी भूतकालीन क्रिया (शिक्षक का आना) से पहले पूरी हो गई थी। Past Perfect Tense ('had answered') दो भूतकालीन घटनाओं में से पहले वाली के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है। 'Have answered' Present Perfect है। 'Answered' Simple Past है जो क्रम नहीं दर्शाता। 'Were answering' Past Continuous है जो चल रही क्रिया बताता है।

समाधान का रास्ता: दो घटनाएँ पहचानो — (1) teacher arrived, (2) students answered. "By the time" बताता है कि answering पहले पूरी हो गई थी। पहले हुई घटना = had + V3 → "had answered"। "Were answering" गलत क्योंकि वह चल रही क्रिया है, पूरी नहीं।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: "Last night" के साथ Past Perfect — यहाँ "has completed" का trap है जो "last night" के साथ कभी नहीं चलता।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Which option correctly fills the blank? 'Riya ______ her homework before she watched television last night.'
रिक्त स्थान के लिए सही विकल्प चुनिए: 'Riya ______ her homework before she watched television last night.'
  1. has completed
  2. completed
  3. was completing
  4. had completed
  1. has completed
  2. completed
  3. was completing
  4. had completed
Solutionसमाधान
Two past events are described: completing homework (earlier) and watching TV (later). The earlier action uses Past Perfect ('had completed'). 'Completed' (Simple Past) does not clearly show which event happened first. 'Has completed' is Present Perfect, which cannot be used with 'last night'. 'Was completing' (Past Continuous) suggests the action was unfinished.
यहाँ दो भूतकालीन घटनाएँ हैं: homework करना (पहले) और TV देखना (बाद में)। पहले वाली क्रिया के लिए Past Perfect ('had completed') प्रयोग होता है। 'Completed' (Simple Past) क्रम स्पष्ट नहीं करता। 'Has completed' Present Perfect है जो 'last night' के साथ सही नहीं। 'Was completing' (Past Continuous) अधूरी क्रिया बताता है।

समाधान का रास्ता: सबसे पहले "last night" देखो → "has completed" को तुरंत eliminate करो (specific past time + Present Perfect = गलत)। अब दो घटनाएँ हैं: homework करना (पहले) + TV देखना (बाद में)। पहली घटना = had completed। "Was completing" — Past Continuous — अधूरी क्रिया दर्शाता है, यहाँ homework पूरा हुआ था।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: "Every morning" signal word के साथ Simple Present और subject-verb agreement — दोनों एक साथ test होते हैं।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Fill in the blank with the correct tense: 'Every morning, Suresh ______ to school by bicycle.'
रिक्त स्थान में सही tense भरिए: 'Every morning, Suresh ______ to school by bicycle.'
  1. has gone
  2. is going
  3. goes
  4. went
  1. has gone
  2. is going
  3. goes
  4. went
Solutionसमाधान
The phrase 'every morning' signals a habitual or routine action, which requires Simple Present Tense. 'Goes' is the correct third-person singular form. 'Is going' (Present Continuous) is used for actions happening right now. 'Went' (Simple Past) is used for past events. 'Has gone' (Present Perfect) indicates a completed action.
'Every morning' वाक्यांश एक नियमित/आदत की क्रिया दर्शाता है, जिसके लिए Simple Present Tense चाहिए। तीसरे पुरुष एकवचन के लिए 'goes' सही है। 'Is going' (Present Continuous) अभी हो रही क्रिया के लिए है। 'Went' (Simple Past) भूतकाल के लिए है। 'Has gone' (Present Perfect) पूर्ण क्रिया दर्शाता है।

समाधान का रास्ता: "Every morning" → आदतन क्रिया → Simple Present। Suresh = He (तीसरा पुरुष एकवचन) → V1 + s/es → "goes"। "Is going" (Present Continuous) — अभी हो रहा है, आदत नहीं। "Went" — Simple Past — भूतकाल के लिए। "Has gone" — Present Perfect — "every morning" के साथ नहीं।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Collective Noun + subject-verb agreement एक साथ — "was" का प्रयोग यहाँ क्यों सही है, यह समझना ज़रूरी है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
In the sentence 'A bunch of grapes was lying on the table', the subject is 'A bunch of grapes'. What kind of noun is 'bunch'?
वाक्य 'A bunch of grapes was lying on the table' में subject 'A bunch of grapes' है। 'Bunch' किस प्रकार का Noun है?
  1. Material noun
  2. Abstract noun
  3. Proper noun
  4. Collective noun
  1. Material noun
  2. Abstract noun
  3. Proper noun
  4. Collective noun
Solutionसमाधान
'Bunch' refers to a group or collection of grapes gathered together, making it a collective noun. Abstract nouns name ideas or qualities. Proper nouns name specific people or places. Material nouns name substances. Collective nouns like 'bunch', 'flock', 'team' name groups of things/people/animals.

ध्यान दो: "A bunch of grapes was" — Collective Noun के साथ Singular Verb (was) आई है क्योंकि पूरा bunch एक इकाई है।
