CTET Paper II

(Zone of Proximal Development — ZPD):

ZPD=सहायता से संभव स्तरअकेले संभव स्तर\text{ZPD} = \text{सहायता से संभव स्तर} - \text{अकेले संभव स्तर}

(Scaffolding):

Scaffolding

C — Collaborative (सहयोगात्मक अधिगम) A — Active (सक्रिय भागीदारी) N — New knowledge connected to prior knowledge (पूर्व-ज्ञान से जोड़) E — Exploration and Inquiry (अन्वेषण और जाँच)

patternScaffolding = घटती मदद

Scaffolding का core pattern: Full support → Partial support → No support

पियाजे = अकेला बच्चा (individual, internal, biological maturation first) वायगोत्स्की = साथ में बच्चा (social, cultural, language, peers)

जब "hands-on exploration," "stages," "schema," "equilibrium" हो — पियाजे।

(5 seconds):

Step 2 — Eliminate करो (10 seconds): Behaviourism के keywords eliminate करो: conditioning, punishment, rote, passive, drill, reward-only।

Total time: 25-30 seconds per question।

Previous Year Question
Constructivists such as Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky view learning as
  1. acquisition of skills
  2. conditioning of responses
  3. passive repetitive process
  4. process of meaning-making by active engagement
Solution
Constructivists like Piaget and Vygotsky believe that learning is an active process where learners construct knowledge by engaging with their environment and experiences. Learners actively make meaning rather than passively receiving information. This contrasts with behaviorist views (conditioning) or rote learning approaches (passive repetition). Both theorists emphasize the learner's active role in building understanding.

समाधान का रास्ता: तीन options रचनावादी होंगे — complex problem-based activities, collaborative peer discussion, prior knowledge activation।

Previous Year Question
Which of the following would not be consistent with a constructivist environment?
  1. Students are given frequent opportunities to engage in complex, meaningful, problem-based activities.
  2. Students work collaboratively and are given support to engage in task-oriented dialogue with each other.
  3. Teachers elicit students' ideas and experiences in relationship to key topics and plant teaching-learning to elaborate or restructure their current knowledge.
  4. Teachers employ specific end of the term assessment strategies and give feedback on products rather than processes.
Solution
Constructivist approaches emphasize ongoing formative assessment and feedback on learning processes, not just end-of-term summative assessment of products. The other options align with constructivism: complex problem-based activities, collaborative work with peer dialogue, and eliciting prior knowledge to construct new understanding are all central tenets of constructivist learning environments.

Previous Year Question
Which of the following strategies would promote meaning-making in children?
  1. Exploration and discussion
  2. Transmission of information
  3. Using punitive measures
  4. Uniform and standardized testing
Solution
Meaning-making is an active process where learners construct understanding through engagement with ideas and others. Exploration allows children to discover concepts firsthand, while discussion enables them to articulate, refine, and challenge their understanding. Transmission, punishment, and standardized testing are passive or extrinsic approaches that hinder meaningful learning.

"Miniature adult" = medieval view। "Passive being" = Behaviourism। CANE का A (Active) यहाँ directly apply होता है।

Previous Year Question
In the constructivist frame child is viewed as
  1. 'miniature adult' who is less than adult in all aspects such as size, cognition, emotions.
  2. 'tabula rasa' or 'blank slate' whose life is shaped entirely by experience.
  3. a 'passive being' who can be shaped and molded into any form through conditioning.
  4. a 'problem solver' and a 'scientific investigator'.
Solution
Constructivism views children as active learners who construct knowledge through exploration and inquiry. They are seen as problem solvers and scientific investigators who actively engage with their environment to make sense of the world. The other views - miniature adult (medieval view), tabula rasa (Lockean view), or passive being (behaviorist view) - are not consistent with constructivism.

Conditioning (Pavlov) = behaviourism, eliminate। Punishment = behaviourism। Rote memorisation = transmission model।

Previous Year Question
Constructivist approach suggests that _________ is crucial for constructing knowledge.
  1. prior knowledge of the learner
  2. conditioning
  3. punishment
  4. rote memorization
Solution
Constructivism, based on Piaget's and Vygotsky's work, holds that learners construct new knowledge by connecting it to their existing prior knowledge and experiences. Prior knowledge serves as the foundation onto which new concepts are integrated. Conditioning is behaviorist, punishment is a behaviorist control mechanism, and rote memorization represents transmission-model learning, all of which contradict constructivist principles.
