Cause-Effect clues: "However", "therefore", "as a result", "but", "yet" — ये contrast या consequence दिखाते हैं।
Parallel structure clues: जब sentence में list हो या similar ideas repeat हों।
Modifier clues: Blank के आगे-पीछे के adjectives/adverbs बहुत कुछ बताते हैं।
यह mechanical लेकिन बहुत effective filter है। हर blank से पहले यह confirm करो — यहाँ noun चाहिए, verb चाहिए, adjective चाहिए, या adverb?
उदाहरण: "The government has launched several (4) to bridge this gap..."
उदाहरण: पहला वाक्य — "The digital revolution has (1) the way we communicate..." और अंतिम वाक्य — "...digital literacy programs." → Theme: digital transformation + government efforts = positive, solution-focused passage।
अब blank (1) में "destroyed" या "complicated" immediately eliminate हो जाते हैं।
Standard method (बिना theme scan): हर option passage में fit करके देखो = 4 readings × 5 blanks = 20 readings। Theme-First Scan: 1 reading + targeted elimination = लगभग 8 readings। समय बचत: 40-50 seconds प्रति passage।
जब blank के आस-पास contrast connectors हों ("however", "but", "yet", "although", "despite"), तो blank में उससे पिछले clause का opposite tone वाला शब्द आएगा।
उदाहरण: "...technological advancement has also created a (3) divide... however, the government has launched several (4)..."
"However" से पहले: problem (divide) "However" के बाद: solution (initiatives/programs)
यह rule apply करने पर blank (3) में negative connotation शब्द और blank (4) में positive/action शब्द automatically आ जाता है।
Step count: बिना trick = 4 options test करो = 4 steps। Contrast test = 1 step में 2 options eliminate।
जब एक sentence में दो blanks हों या दो consecutive blanks हों, तो उनकी meaning parallel (समानांतर) या complementary (पूरक) होती है।
उदाहरण: "...providing (5) internet connectivity and digital literacy programs."
Scientists have (3) that immediate action is needed..."
"have (3)" → present perfect tense → past participle verb चाहिए। Options: "denied" ✓ (pp), "warned" ✓ (pp), "ignored" ✓ (pp), "forgotten" ✓ (pp) — सब grammatically possible। लेकिन context: scientists + immediate action needed = "warned" (चेतावनी दी)। "Denied" (नकारा) या "forgotten" (भूल गए) — scientists ऐसा नहीं करते जब passage problem-solving focused हो।
Grammar filter + context filter combination: 2 steps में answer। बिना filter: सभी 4 trial = 4+ steps।
जब blank में adjective आनी हो जो किसी चीज़ की importance बताए, तो passage की overall claim देखो — क्या यह extreme importance claim कर रही है या moderate?
उदाहरण: "Education plays a (1) role in shaping society and determining the future of any nation."
"Shaping society" + "determining the future of a nation" = extreme importance claim।
Options: "minor" (छोटी) ✗, "temporary" (अस्थायी) ✗, "optional" (ऐच्छिक) ✗, "crucial" (अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण) ✓।
Claim की intensity से answer: 3 options 1 second में eliminate। Total: 5 seconds per blank। Normal approach: हर option sentence में fit करके पढ़ो = 20+ seconds।
परीक्षा हॉल में क्लोज़ टेस्ट के लिए यह decision tree follow करो:
Step 1 (20 seconds): पूरा passage एक बार पढ़ो — blanks ignore करो। Passage का theme और tone note करो: Positive/Negative? Problem/Solution? Social/Economic/Environmental?
Step 2 (blank देखते ही): Part of speech filter — यहाँ noun/verb/adjective/adverb चाहिए? Grammar से eliminate करो।
Step 3: Clue words देखो — blank के आगे-पीछे contrast connector है? Parallel structure है? Degree of importance claim है?
Step 4: बचे हुए options में से tone match करो — passage का overall mood किस option के साथ align करता है?
Step 5 (अगर 2 options में confusion हो): Collocation check करो — कौन सा शब्द English में ज़्यादा naturally उस pattern के साथ आता है?
Target time: पूरे 5-blank passage के लिए 4-5 minutes।
Tone: positive change।
क्यों यह प्रश्न: Same passage का blank (2) — "every (2) of human life" → यह collocation test है।
समाधान का रास्ता: "Every ___ of human life" — यह एक fixed collocation pattern है। "Corner of human life" — unusual। "Problem/difficulty of human life" — grammatically awkward और meaning भी fit नहीं, क्योंकि यह "changes" के साथ आ रहा है। "Aspect of human life" — यह standard English collocation है जो व्यापक परिवर्तन को express करता है।
क्यों यह प्रश्न: Climate change passage का blank (1) — degree of importance test का perfect example।
समाधान का रास्ता: "One of the most (1) issues of our time" — superlative structure ("one of the most") के बाद extreme importance adjective आएगा। "Minor", "simple", "temporary" — superlative के साथ ये words contradictory हैं। "Pressing" — urgent, demanding immediate attention। यह superlative claim के साथ और बाद में "immediate action is needed" के साथ perfectly consistent है। Degree of importance test: 10 seconds।
क्यों यह प्रश्न: Education passage का blank (1) — यह pattern देखो कि किसी नए passage में भी same strategies apply होती हैं।
समाधान का रास्ता: "Education plays a (1) role in shaping society and determining the future of any nation" — दो broad, important outcomes बताए गए हैं (shaping society + determining national future)। इतने broad claims के साथ "minor" या "temporary" या "optional" clearly eliminate। "Crucial" — यह उस level की importance express करता है जो शिक्षा के लिए claim की जा रही है। Theme-First Scan + Degree of Importance Test combine: 8 seconds।
Contrast connectors को नज़रअंदाज़ करना: "However", "but", "yet" देखकर blank में opposite tone नहीं ढूंढना। "However, more (5) efforts are required" — "however" के बाद solution/positive angle आएगा। "Minimal" या "delayed" wrong हैं।
दो अच्छे लगने वाले options में ज़्यादा time waste करना: अगर 2 options में 30+ seconds से confusion है, तो collocation check करो। "Adopt renewable energy" standard collocation है — "embrace" भी possible लग सकता है लेकिन banking exam में simpler, more common collocation prefer करो।
Passage का tone पहले establish न करना: अगर passage government initiative की success के बारे में है, तो negative words कभी answer नहीं होंगे — चाहे वे grammatically fit लगें। Tone mismatch को ignore करना marks का सीधा नुकसान है।
