IBPS RRB Clerk के लिए वाक्य सुधार — व्याकरण त्रुटि पहचानने की पूरी रणनीति

intermediate 20 min read

"Despite" बनाम "In spite of":

"Remind" का preposition:

"Between" बनाम "Among":

श्रेणी 2: Pronoun Case की त्रुटि

Preposition के बाद हमेशा object pronoun आता है, subject pronoun नहीं।

| Subject Pronoun | Object Pronoun | |---|---| | I | me | | he | him | | she | her | | we | us | | they | them |

गलत: Between you and I → सही: Between you and me

"Myself", "yourself" जैसे reflexive pronouns तभी आते हैं जब subject और object एक ही व्यक्ति हो (I hurt myself) या emphasis के लिए (I did it myself)। Between you and myself — यह भी गलत है।

श्रेणी 3: Subject-Verb Agreement — "One of those" की संरचना

यह एक classic trap है। देखो:

She is one of those employees who always **come** to office early.

यहाँ who का antecedent कौन है? employees (plural) — न कि one (singular)। इसलिए verb come होगी, comes नहीं।

नियम: One of those + plural noun + who/that → relative clause में verb plural होगी।

श्रेणी 4: Dangling Participle

Participial phrase का subject हमेशा main clause का subject होना चाहिए।

गलत: Having finished the project, the deadline was no longer a concern. यहाँ Having finished किसने किया? deadline ने नहीं, team ने।

सही: Having finished the project, the team was no longer concerned about the deadline.

जब भी वाक्य -ing phrase से शुरू हो, तुरंत पूछो: यह काम comma के बाद आने वाले subject ने किया? यदि नहीं → dangling participle है।

श्रेणी 5: Relative Pronoun — "Which" बनाम "That"

गलत: profits have risen 20%, that is the highest increase सही: profits have risen 20%, which is the highest increase

यहाँ 20% बढ़ना एक पूरी situation है जिसे refer किया जा रहा है → which

श्रेणी 6: Idiomatic Expressions (मुहावरे)

"Cannot help but":

"From next month" बनाम "from the next month":

श्रेणी 7: Articles की त्रुटियाँ

From next month में the की ज़रूरत नहीं। Articles के साथ time expressions में the तभी आता है जब specific reference हो: the next month of the financial year — तब the justify होता है। General context में from next month पर्याप्त है।

शॉर्टकट और युक्तियाँ

patternDespite-की-परछाईं (No 'of' Allowed)

जब भी Despite दिखे — तुरंत अगले शब्द पर नज़र डालो। यदि of है → निश्चित रूप से गलत। Despite के बाद सीधे Noun या Gerund आता है। Option scan करते समय Despite of वाले सभी options को 2 seconds में eliminate करो।

Standard approach: पूरे वाक्य को पढ़ो, grammar सोचो — 30 seconds। इस pattern से: of देखा → eliminate → 5 seconds।

eliminationPreposition-Pronoun Lock

वाक्य में जब भी Preposition + Pronoun का combination हो (between/for/with + I/he/she/we/they), तुरंत जानो — यह गलत है। Prepositions के बाद subject pronoun (I, he, she, we, they) नहीं, object pronoun (me, him, her, us, them) आता है।

Between you and I → देखते ही eliminate करो। Between you and me → सही।

Standard: grammar rule याद करो, apply करो — 20 seconds। इस lock से: Preposition + I देखा → 3 seconds में eliminate।

patternDangling Participle Test — 'किसने किया?' प्रश्न

वाक्य -ing phrase से शुरू हो, तो comma के बाद आने वाले subject से पूछो: "यह -ing वाला काम तुमने किया?" यदि answer No → dangling participle है, वाक्य गलत है।

Having finished the project, the deadline... → क्या deadline ने project finish किया? नहीं → गलत।

यह एक 4-second mental test है जो 3-4 options को एक झटके में eliminate कर देता है। Standard: structure को grammar terms में analyze करो — 40 seconds। इस test से: एक प्रश्न पूछो → 4 seconds।

pattern'One of those' — Plural Lock

One of those + [plural noun] + who/that + verb — इस structure में verb हमेशा plural होगी क्योंकि relative pronoun who/that का antecedent plural noun है, one नहीं।

She is one of those employees who always comecome (plural, क्योंकि antecedent employees है)।

Standard: antecedent ढूँढो, agree करो — 25 seconds। Pattern lock से: structure देखा → automatically plural verb → 5 seconds।

eliminationWhich vs That — Comma देखो

Non-restrictive clause (जो extra information दे, पूरी situation refer करे) → comma + which। Restrictive clause (noun को define करे) → that (comma नहीं)।

Shortcut: जब clause से पहले comma हो → which लगभग हमेशा सही। That के पहले comma नहीं आता।

profits rose 20%, **which** is the highest → comma है → which। Standard: semantic analysis — 30 seconds। Comma-check से: 5 seconds।

तेज़-समाधान रूपरेखा

परीक्षा हॉल में Sentence Improvement के किसी भी प्रश्न को इस क्रम में हल करो:

Step 1 — पहले पूरा वाक्य पढ़ो (एक बार, तेज़ी से)। अर्थ समझो।

Step 2 — Underlined/highlighted हिस्से पर focus करो। यह पूछो:

Step 3 — Options scan करो। जो clearly गलत हों उन्हें eliminate करो। Options में despite of या between...I दिखे → तुरंत बाहर।

Step 4 — "No improvement" को अंत में consider करो। यदि underlined part सभी rules pass करता है, तभी "No improvement" चुनो। पहले improvement खोजने की कोशिश करो।

Step 5 — Final answer verify: चुने हुए option को वाक्य में fit करके एक बार पढ़ो। अर्थ और grammar दोनों check करो।

हल किए गए PYQs

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Article और redundancy — यह combination IBPS में subtlety test करता है। समाधान का रास्ता: Part C में from the next month onwards देखो। the और onwards दोनों साथ में awkward हैं। From next month या from next month onwards — दोनों सही हैं। लेकिन from the next month onwards में the अनावश्यक है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
The sentence below has been divided into three parts. Select the part that contains an error. If there is no error, select 'No error'. The committee has decided (A) / to implement the new policy (B) / from the next month onwards. (C) / No error (D)
  1. A
  2. B
  3. C
  4. D
Solutionसमाधान
The error is in part C. 'From the next month onwards' is redundant. It should be either 'from next month' or 'from the next month onward' (singular).
भाग C में त्रुटि है। 'From the next month onwards' अनावश्यक है। यह या तो 'from next month' या 'from the next month onward' (एकवचन) होना चाहिए।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Despite का सबसे classic error — यह हर RRB exam में किसी न किसी रूप में आता है। समाधान का रास्ता: Despite of दिखते ही — Option A और C scan करो। Option A: Despite working hard → कोई of नहीं → सही। Option B: Inspite of → यह एक word में लिखना गलत है (in spite of — तीन words)। Option C: Despite of work hard → दोहरी गलती।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Choose the best way to improve the underlined part: 'Despite of working hard, he could not achieve success in the examination.'
  1. Despite working hard
  2. Inspite of working hard
  3. Despite of work hard
  4. No improvement
Solutionसमाधान
'Despite of' is incorrect. 'Despite' is never followed by 'of'. The correct usage is simply 'Despite working hard'.
'Despite of' गलत है। 'Despite' के बाद कभी 'of' नहीं आता। सही प्रयोग केवल 'Despite working hard' है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Fixed idiom cannot help but — इसे रटना नहीं, एक बार structure समझना है। समाधान का रास्ता: cannot help but के बाद base verb (infinitive without to) आती है। to admireto हटाओ → admire। Option A: could not help but admire → सही। Option B: could not help to admire — यह अलग idiom है जिसका अर्थ अलग होता है। Option C: -ing form — गलत।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Select the best improvement: 'She could not help but to admire his dedication.'
  1. could not help but admire
  2. could not help to admire
  3. could not help but admiring
  4. No improvement
Solutionसमाधान
The idiom 'cannot help but' is followed by the base form of the verb without 'to'. The correct form is 'could not help but admire'.
मुहावरा 'cannot help but' के बाद 'to' के बिना क्रिया का मूल रूप आता है। सही रूप 'could not help but admire' है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Preposition (of) और conciseness — दो errors एक साथ। समाधान का रास्ता: Remind someone of somethingof सही preposition है, about नहीं। साथ ही my promise which I had made को the promise I had made से replace करने पर वाक्य अधिक concise और formal बनता है। Option A इन दोनों को ठीक करता है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Improve the sentence: 'She reminded me about my promise which I had made to her.'
  1. She reminded me of the promise I had made to her.
  2. She reminded me for my promise which I had made to her.
  3. She reminded me with my promise that I had made to her.
  4. No improvement
Solutionसमाधान
'Remind someone of something' is the correct phrasal verb. Also, 'the promise I had made' is more concise than 'my promise which I had made'.
'Remind someone of something' सही phrasal verb है। साथ ही, 'the promise I had made' अधिक संक्षिप्त है 'my promise which I had made' से।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Pronoun case — I vs me after preposition — यह एक common "hypercorrection" trap है। समाधान का रास्ता: Between एक preposition है। Preposition के बाद object pronoun चाहिए। I subject pronoun है → गलत। me object pronoun है → सही। Option B: Between you and me → सही। Myself (Option D) — reflexive, यहाँ applicable नहीं।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Identify the correctly improved sentence: 'Between you and I, this project seems more challenging than we initially thought.'
  1. Among you and I, this project seems more challenging than we initially thought.
  2. Between you and me, this project seems more challenging than we initially thought.
  3. Between you and I, this project seems much challenging than we initially thought.
  4. Between you and myself, this project seems more challenging than we initially thought.
Solutionसमाधान
After prepositions like 'between', we use object pronouns, not subject pronouns. 'Me' is the correct object pronoun, while 'I' is a subject pronoun and incorrect in this context.
Prepositions जैसे 'between' के बाद हम object pronouns का प्रयोग करते हैं, subject pronouns का नहीं। 'Me' सही object pronoun है, जबकि 'I' एक subject pronoun है और इस context में गलत है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: One of those + plural noun + who — verb agreement का सबसे tricky pattern। समाधान का रास्ता: employees plural है → who का antecedent employees → verb plural चाहिए → come और stay। Option D: come...stay — दोनों plural → सही। Option C में past tense है जो context से match नहीं करता।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Choose the best improvement for: 'She is one of those employees who always comes to office early and stays late.'
  1. She is one of those employee who always comes to office early and stays late.
  2. She is one of those employees who always comes to office early and stay late.
  3. She is one of those employees who always came to office early and stayed late.
  4. She is one of those employees who always come to office early and stay late.
Solutionसमाधान
In 'one of those + plural noun + who' constructions, the verb in the relative clause agrees with the plural noun ('employees'), not with 'one'. Therefore, 'come' and 'stay' are correct.
'One of those + plural noun + who' की संरचना में relative clause की क्रिया plural noun ('employees') के साथ agreement करती है, 'one' के साथ नहीं। इसलिए 'come' और 'stay' सही हैं।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Dangling Participle — इसे IBPS RRB हर साल किसी न किसी रूप में पूछता है। समाधान का रास्ता: Having finished the project — किसने project finish किया? team ने। तो main clause का subject team होना चाहिए। Option A: the team was no longer concernedteam subject है → dangling ठीक हो गया। बाकी options में deadline या impersonal there subject है → dangling बरकरार।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Identify the option that improves the sentence: 'Having finished the project, the deadline was no longer a concern for the team.'
  1. Having finished the project, the team was no longer concerned about the deadline.
  2. Having finished the project, the deadline was no longer concerning the team.
  3. Having finished the project, there was no longer a concern about the deadline for the team.
  4. Having been finished the project, the deadline was no longer a concern for the team.
Solutionसमाधान
The original sentence has a dangling participle. 'Having finished' should logically refer to 'the team', not 'the deadline'. The improved sentence makes 'the team' the subject to match the participial phrase.
मूल वाक्य में dangling participle है। 'Having finished' का logical reference 'the team' को होना चाहिए, 'the deadline' को नहीं। सुधारा गया वाक्य 'the team' को subject बनाता है participial phrase के अनुरूप।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Which vs That — comma के साथ relative pronoun का चयन। समाधान का रास्ता: पूरे clause (profits have risen 20% this quarter) को refer किया जा रहा है → non-restrictive relative clause → which चाहिए। Comma भी है → which confirm। Option D: , which is the highest increase → सही। Option A में what — यह relative pronoun के रूप में यहाँ गलत है। Option B में semicolon — grammatically possible लेकिन original structure को ज़्यादा बदलता है और that रहता है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न
Select the grammatically improved version: 'The company's profits have risen more than 20% this quarter, that is the highest increase in five years.'
  1. The company's profits have risen more than 20% this quarter, what is the highest increase in five years.
  2. The company's profits have risen more than 20% this quarter; that is the highest increase in five years.
  3. The company's profits have risen more than 20% this quarter, and that is the highest increase in five years.
  4. The company's profits have risen more than 20% this quarter, which is the highest increase in five years.
Solutionसमाधान
When referring back to an entire clause or situation, use 'which' not 'that'. 'Which is' correctly refers to the entire situation of profits rising by 20%.
जब पूरे clause या situation को refer करना हो, तो 'which' का प्रयोग करते हैं, 'that' का नहीं। 'Which is' सही तरीके से profits के 20% बढ़ने की पूरी स्थिति को refer करता है।
