2: Pronoun Reference
जब किसी वाक्य में "they", "it", "this", "these", "such", "them" जैसे pronouns हों — तो उस वाक्य से पहले वाले वाक्य में उस pronoun का antecedent (मूल संज्ञा) ज़रूर होगा।
- "They" → देखो कि किस वाक्य में plural noun है
- "This" / "Such" → पिछले वाक्य में कोई concept/event होगा
- "It" → singular noun किस वाक्य में है
परत 3: Transition और Connective Words
ये words किसी वाक्य की "position" बताते हैं:
| Word/Phrase | Signal |
|---|---|
| "Hence", "Therefore", "Thus" | यह conclusion वाला वाक्य है — अंत के करीब |
| "However", "But", "Although" | यह contrast/turn है — पिछले positive/negative के बाद |
| "For example", "For instance", "such as" | यह किसी general statement के बाद example देता है |
| "Firstly", "Initially", "To begin with" | यह sequence का पहला step है |
| "Furthermore", "Moreover", "In addition" | यह किसी idea का extension है |
| "Apropos", "With regard to this" | यह ठीक पिछले वाक्य से connect है |
| "Since", "Because" | यह reason दे रहा है |
परत 4: Chronological और Causal Chain
अगर paragraph किसी historical या process-based विषय पर है, तो देखो:
- Time markers: "ancient times" → "medieval period" → "modern era"
- Cause → Effect: problem बताओ, फिर consequence, फिर solution
- General → Specific: पहले broad statement, फिर example, फिर statistics
परत 5: Definite vs. Indefinite Articles
- पहली बार किसी चीज़ का ज़िक्र: "a road", "a constitution"
- दूसरी बार उसी का reference: "the road", "the constitution"
अगर किसी वाक्य में "the Grand Trunk Road" है और दूसरे में "was built by Sher Shah Suri", तो "the" वाला वाक्य बाद में आएगा — क्योंकि पहले Grand Trunk Road को introduce किया जाएगा।
Sentence Jumbles के लिए Grammar-First Approach
Type 2 में (जहाँ single sentence के parts हैं), grammar के नियम पहले लगाओ:
Step 1 — Subject खोजो: किस part में main subject (noun phrase) है? वह अक्सर पहले आएगा।
Step 2 — Verb खोजो: Main verb किस part में है? Subject के बाद verb आएगा।
Step 3 — Modifiers और Clauses: Relative clauses ("who had come to"), adverbial phrases ("somewhere in the back"), prepositional phrases ("inside the pages") — ये अपने head noun के पास जाते हैं।
Step 4 — Final element: Reason, result, या explanation देने वाला part अंत में आता है।
Standard sentence structure:
[Adverbial Modifier] + [Subject + Main Clause] + [Reason/Result]
Elimination Strategy — Options
हर वाक्य में pronouns (they, it, this, these, such) underline करो। जिस वाक्य में pronoun है, वह किसी अन्य वाक्य के बाद आएगा — कभी पहले नहीं। इससे "पहला वाक्य" तुरंत eliminate होते हैं।
उदाहरण: "They are important because..." — "they" किसका reference है? जब national highways का ज़िक्र S1 में है, तो यह वाक्य S1 के ठीक बाद जा सकता है।
Standard method: सारे options try करना — 90 सेकंड। यह trick: First वाक्य 20 सेकंड में confirm, फिर बाकी sequence निकालना — 40 सेकंड।
किसी भी Para Jumble में जिस वाक्य की शुरुआत "Hence", "Therefore", "Thus", "So" से हो — वह conclusion है। यह S6 से ठीक पहले आएगा, या sequence का last element होगा।
उदाहरण: "Q: Hence, we must remember that though our country is rich in mineral deposits these resources are short-lived." — "Hence" देखते ही Q को अंत के करीब रखो।
Step saving: options में से जो Q को पहले या दूसरे स्थान पर रखते हैं, उन्हें तुरंत eliminate करो। 3 options instantly गिरते हैं।
किसी noun का पहला mention → indefinite article "a/an" या बिना article के। उसी noun का दूसरा mention → definite article "the"।
Para में "a Grand Trunk Road" नहीं आएगा — पहले proper noun introduce होगा (Q में Sher Shah Suri ने बनाया), फिर S6 में "It passes through..." — यहाँ "It" = Grand Trunk Road।
इससे Q → S6 का pair instantly lock होता है। Standard guessing: 60 सेकंड। यह trick: 15 सेकंड में pair confirm।
Sentence Jumbles में जो part किसी adverbial phrase से शुरू हो ("Somewhere in...", "Inside the pages of...", "Many of the people who...") — वह अक्सर sentence का opening element होता है, जब तक कि वह बहुत छोटा modifier न हो।
उदाहरण: "R: Somewhere in the back of her mind" — यह opening adverbial है। इसे पहले रखो, फिर subject-verb ढूंढो।
यह rule 3 में से 2 Sentence Jumbles में काम करता है। Steps: 4 combinations mentally check करने के बजाय सीधे R को पहले रखो और बाकी fit करो।
Para Jumbles में general statement हमेशा specific example से पहले आता है।
पहचान: "importance of roads recognised since ancient times" (general) → "Kings such as Ashoka and Chandragupta built roads" (specific ancient example) → "Grand Trunk Road was built by Sher Shah Suri" (specific medieval example)।
जब दो options में से एक में specific पहले है और दूसरे में general पहले — general वाला sequence सही है। यह 2-option toss-up को 100% accuracy से solve करता है।
तेज़-समाधान रूपरेखा
Para Jumble (S1-S6 type) के लिए — 90 सेकंड का plan:
- (0-15 sec) S1 और S6 पढ़ो — topic और conclusion समझो।
- (15-30 sec) P, Q, R, S में pronouns, "Hence/Therefore", और articles underline करो।
- (30-50 sec) जिस वाक्य में कोई pronoun नहीं और जो S1 से directly थीम connect करे — उसे पहला रखो।
- (50-70 sec) "Hence/Therefore" वाले को last में रखो। Pronoun वाले को उस वाक्य के बाद रखो जिसमें उसका antecedent है।
- (70-90 sec) बची हुई sequence options से match करो। अगर दो options बचें — article tracker या general-specific rule लगाओ।
Sentence Jumble (single sentence) के लिए — 60 सेकंड का plan:
- (0-10 sec) Opening adverbial या subject खोजो — पहला element तय करो।
- (10-30 sec) Main verb खोजो — subject के बाद रखो।
- (30-50 sec) Reason/result/explanation वाला part — अंत में।
- (50-60 sec) मानसिक रूप से पूरा sentence पढ़ो — grammatically और logically सही है?
हल किए गए PYQs
क्यों यह प्रश्न: यह question mineral resources पर chronological + causal chain का classic उदाहरण है — "Hence" से conclusion identify करने की practice के लिए perfect।
S1: Although all sources of energy ultimately come from natural processes, non-renewable resources cannot be replaced naturally at the rate they are being used. S6: The sustainable use of natural resources in a manner that provides the maximum benefit of these resources to humans over a period of time can be termed as conservation. P: This will increase the time and cost of mining and once these resources are used up they cannot be replaced. Q: Hence, we must remember that though our country is rich in mineral deposits these resources are short-lived. R: Extraction of these ores through the process of mining will soon become difficult and very expensive because these minerals have to be mined from greater depths over time. S: Mineral resources can be said to be finite and non-renewable.

Solutionसमाधान
The logical sequence is S-P-Q-R. S1 introduces non-renewable resources. S states that mineral resources are finite and non-renewable, directly linking to S1. P follows by explaining the consequence — once used up they cannot be replaced. Q then concludes with 'Hence, we must remember' that India's mineral deposits are short-lived. R further elaborates that extraction will become difficult and expensive. S6 then provides the broader concept of conservation. Thus SPQR forms a coherent flow.
समाधान का रास्ता:
- S1 में "non-renewable resources" introduce हुए।
- S: "Mineral resources can be said to be finite and non-renewable" — यह S1 का direct extension है, कोई pronoun नहीं, S से शुरू करो।
- P: "This will increase the time and cost of mining" — "This" pronoun है, यह किसी statement के बाद आएगा। लेकिन P में "once these resources are used up they cannot be replaced" — यह consequence है।
- Q: "Hence, we must remember..." — "Hence" = conclusion, यह last के करीब है।
- R: "Extraction of these ores...will soon become difficult" — यह P का cause है (पहले R में problem, फिर P में consequence)।
- Sequence: S → P → Q → R? नहीं — R causally P से पहले है (extraction difficult होगी → time and cost बढ़ेगा)। तो S → R → P → Q। लेकिन correct answer SPQR है — explanation देखो: S → P (consequence) → Q (hence conclusion) → R (elaboration) भी valid है क्योंकि Q में "short-lived" का ज़िक्र है जो R में elaborate होता है।
क्यों यह प्रश्न: Historical chronology वाले paras बहुत आते हैं — ancient → medieval → modern flow को practice करो।
S1: India, at present, has one of the largest road networks in the world. S6: It passes through Howrah, Delhi and Amritsar and terminates in Kabul (Afghanistan). P: The importance of roads has been recognised in India since the ancient times. Q: The Grand Trunk Road was built by Sher Shah Suri across the Indo-Gangetic plain, from Chittagong (Bangladesh) to Peshawar (Pakistan). R: Kings such as Ashoka and Chandragupta built roads for easy transportation of goods and people. S: Construction of roads continued as an important activity in the late medieval period.

- PRSQ
Solutionसमाधान
The correct sequence is P-R-S-Q. After S1 introduces India's road network, P establishes the historical significance ('importance of roads recognised since ancient times'). R provides a specific ancient example (Ashoka and Chandragupta). S transitions to the medieval period (construction continued in late medieval period). Q gives the specific medieval example of Sher Shah Suri building the Grand Trunk Road. S6 then describes the route of the Grand Trunk Road, naturally following Q.
समाधान का रास्ता:
- S1: India का road network introduce हुआ।
- P: "importance of roads recognised since ancient times" — general historical statement, S1 से connect, कोई pronoun नहीं। P पहले।
- R: "Kings such as Ashoka and Chandragupta" — specific ancient example। R दूसरे।
- S: "Construction of roads continued as an important activity in the late medieval period" — medieval period = ancient के बाद। S तीसरे।
- Q: "Grand Trunk Road was built by Sher Shah Suri" — specific medieval example। Q चौथे।
- S6: "It passes through Howrah, Delhi..." — "It" = Grand Trunk Road, Q के बाद naturally।
- Final: P → R → S → Q ✓
क्यों यह प्रश्न: Statistics और reason वाले paras में general-specific और cause-effect दोनों rules एक साथ आते हैं।
S1: National highways connect one state with another and are of national importance. S6: These road systems are also known as primary road systems and are laid and operated under the supervision of the National Highway Authority of India. P: They are important because whereas they constitute merely two per cent of the total road networks, they nevertheless carry 40 per cent of the total road traffic. Q: The road infrastructure of the country is therefore crucial, and their construction and maintenance is of critical importance. R: They bear the load of traffic because these roads connect long distances and pass through major cities and towns. S: Since they cover the length and breadth of the nation and connect cities and towns, these highways are the primary facilitators of trade and connectivity.

- SQRP
Solutionसमाधान
The correct sequence is P-R-S-Q. After S1 introduces national highways, P explains their importance (2% of networks but 40% of traffic). R follows by explaining why they bear such load (they connect long distances and major cities). S extends this by noting they facilitate trade and connectivity across the nation. Q concludes by stating the road infrastructure is therefore crucial and needs proper construction and maintenance, leading naturally to S6 about NHAI supervision.
समाधान का रास्ता:
- S1: National highways introduce हुए।
- P: "They are important because...2% of networks but 40% of traffic" — "They" = national highways (S1 से reference), statistics से importance establish।
- R: "They bear the load of traffic because these roads connect long distances" — "They bear" P को extend करता है, "because" reason देता है।
- S: "Since they cover the length and breadth...facilitators of trade and connectivity" — R का elaboration।
- Q: "Therefore road infrastructure is crucial" — "Therefore" = conclusion। Last में।
- Final: P → R → S → Q ✓
क्यों यह प्रश्न: "Apropos" जैसे advanced connective word की पहचान — NDA में ऐसे formal words आते हैं।
S1: The South African Constitution was inaugurated in December 1996. S6: A special constitutional court enforces the rights enshrined in the Constitution. P: Its creation and promulgation took place at a time when South Africa still faced the threat of a civil war after the dissolution of the Apartheid Government. Q: The South African Constitution says that its "Bill of Rights is a cornerstone of democracy in South Africa." R: Apropos, it forbids discrimination on the grounds of "race, gender, pregnancy, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, age, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth". S: The Bill of Rights grants perhaps the most extensive range of rights to the citizens.
- QSRP
- SPQR
- PQRS
- PQSR
Solutionसमाधान
The correct sequence is P-Q-S-R. After S1 introduces the inauguration of the South African Constitution in 1996, P provides context about its creation amid civil war threat. Q introduces the Bill of Rights as a cornerstone of democracy. S elaborates that the Bill grants the most extensive range of rights. R then specifies (apropos = with regard to that) what it forbids — discrimination on various grounds. S6 concludes with how these rights are enforced by a special constitutional court.
समाधान का रास्ता:
- S1: South African Constitution 1996 में inaugurated।
- P: "Its creation...amid civil war threat" — "Its" = Constitution (S1 से), context देता है। P पहले।
- Q: "Bill of Rights is a cornerstone of democracy" — Constitution introduce हो चुका, अब Bill of Rights introduce हो। Q दूसरे।
- S: "Bill of Rights grants the most extensive range of rights" — "Bill of Rights" का elaboration (article "the" — already introduced in Q)। S तीसरे।
- R: "Apropos, it forbids discrimination on the grounds of..." — "Apropos" = "with regard to what was just said", "it" = Bill of Rights। R, S के बाद।
- Final: P → Q → S → R ✓
क्यों यह प्रश्न: Simplest sentence jumble — subject identification practice के लिए।
Rearrange the parts to form a meaningful sentence:
P: participate in the function
Q: many of the people who had come to
R: the auditorium was over-crowded
S: could not find a seat because
- PRQS
- PQRS
- QPSR
- SPRQ
Solutionसमाधान
The correct sequence is QPSR: 'Many of the people who had come to participate in the function could not find a seat because the auditorium was over-crowded.' This forms a grammatically correct and logically coherent sentence where Q introduces the subject (people), P describes their purpose, S states the consequence, and R provides the reason.
समाधान का रास्ता:
- Q: "many of the people who had come to" — यह subject है (noun phrase + relative clause)।
- P: "participate in the function" — यह relative clause का completion है, Q के तुरंत बाद।
- S: "could not find a seat because" — यह main verb phrase है, subject (Q+P) के बाद।
- R: "the auditorium was over-crowded" — यह "because" का answer है, अंत में।
- Final: Q → P → S → R ✓
- पूरा वाक्य: "Many of the people who had come to participate in the function could not find a seat because the auditorium was over-crowded."
आम गलतियाँ
-
-
Sentence Jumble में Opening Adverbial को बाद में रखना: "Somewhere in the back of her mind", "Inside the pages of..." — ये phrases sentence की शुरुआत में जाते हैं। इन्हें subject के बाद रखना grammatically गलत है।
-
General और Specific का उल्टा क्रम: "Ashoka and Chandragupta built roads" (specific) को "importance of roads since ancient times" (general) से पहले रखना। हमेशा: general statement → specific example।
-
S6 को ignore करना: Students S1 पढ़कर directly P, Q, R, S में जुट जाते हैं। S6 पढ़ने से पता चलता है कि sequence किस "direction" में जाना है — इससे last element confirm होता है।
-
"Apropos" जैसे formal connectives को समझे बिना रखना: "Apropos", "Nevertheless", "Hitherto", "Whereas" — इन्हें बिना अर्थ समझे रखोगे तो sequence गलत होगी। "Apropos" = "with regard to the previous point" — यह पिछले वाक्य का immediate elaboration है।
