SSC CGL

(Cell Biology)

| अंगक | कार्य | |------|-------| | Mitochondria | ATP उत्पादन (cellular respiration का केंद्र) — "powerhouse of the cell" | | Ribosome | Protein synthesis | | Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) | Smooth ER: lipid synthesis; Rough ER: protein processing | | Golgi Body | Packaging और secretion | | Lysosome | Intracellular digestion — "suicide bag" | | Peroxisome | Oxidation reactions, H₂O₂ का उत्पादन और विनाश | | Chloroplast | Photosynthesis (केवल पादप कोशिका में) | | Cell Wall | Protection और shape (पादप, कवक, bacteria में) |

(Cellular Respiration)

  1. Glycolysis (Cytoplasm में): 1 Glucose → 2 Pyruvate + 2 ATP (Net)
  2. Krebs Cycle / Citric Acid Cycle (Mitochondria matrix में): 2 ATP + NADH + FADH₂ बनते हैं

(Classification)

(Vertebrata):

= Snake, Turtle, Lizard, Crocodile।

  • Glycolysis = 2 ATP
  • Krebs Cycle = 2 ATP
  • ETC = 34 ATP (approximately)

Step count: Definition recall → 1 step vs. options eliminate करना → 3-4 steps।

"Power Ribose Golgi Lysed Peroxide"

  • Power = Mitochondria (powerhouse)
  • Ribose = Ribosome (protein synthesis)
  • Golgi = Golgi body (packaging)
  • Lysed = Lysosome (digestion/lysis)
  • Peroxide = Peroxisome (H₂O₂ production)

Step 3 — Classic traps

जीव विज्ञान में SSC CGL NCERT Class 11-12 biology पर based है।

Previous Year Question
Wheat is a __________.
  1. Herb
  2. Shrub
  3. Creeper
  4. Tree
Solution
Wheat is classified as an herb (or herbaceous plant) because it has a non-woody stem and completes its life cycle within one growing season.

Previous Year Question
Snakes, turtle, lizards and crocodiles falls under which category of animals?
  1. Aves
  2. Pisces
  3. Reptilian
  4. Amphibian
Solution
Snakes, turtles, lizards, and crocodiles are all cold-blooded vertebrates with scales and belong to the class Reptilia (Reptilian).

समाधान का रास्ता: Plasma membrane = phospholipid bilayer।

Previous Year Question
Which component forms the phospholipid bilayer of the plasma membrane, acting as a barrier and ensuring selective permeability?
  1. Phospholipids
  2. DNA
  3. Cellulose
  4. Glycogen
Solution
Phospholipids form the phospholipid bilayer of the plasma membrane. Cellulose is in plant cell walls, DNA is in the nucleus, and glycogen is an energy storage polysaccharide — none of these are membrane components.

Glycolysis = 2, Krebs = 2, ETC = 28-34।

Previous Year Question
Which component of cellular respiration generates the most ATP through oxidative phosphorylation?
  1. Pyruvate Oxidation
  2. Krebs Cycle
  3. Glycolysis
  4. Electron Transport Chain (ETC)
Solution
The Electron Transport Chain (ETC) generates the most ATP in cellular respiration through oxidative phosphorylation. NADH and FADH donate electrons to the ETC, creating a proton gradient that powers ATP synthase, producing 28 to 34 ATP molecules per glucose molecule.

समाधान का रास्ता: Euplectella = Venus's Flower Basket = Sponge = Phylum Porifera = Cellular grade organisation।

Previous Year Question
Which of the following pairs is INCORRECT regarding the grade of organisation and its example?
  1. Tissue-organ grade organisation - Euplectella
  2. Cellular grade organisation - Sycon
  3. Cell-tissue grade organisation - Jellyfish
  4. Protoplasmic grade organisation - Paramecium
Solution
Euplectella (Venus's flower basket) is a sponge with cellular grade organisation, not tissue-organ grade. Tissue-organ grade is seen in platyhelminthes like Planaria, making option (d) the incorrect pair.

Question में "a flower with both androecium and gynoecium" = Bisexual flower की परिभाषा है जो monoecious plant की सही पहचान है।

Previous Year Question
Which of the following statements best defines the monoecious?
  1. A flower with both androecium and gynoecium
  2. A flower with androecium only
  3. A flower with dithecous
  4. A flower with gynoecium only
Solution
A monoecious plant has both male (androecium) and female (gynoecium) reproductive organs present on the same plant, though possibly in separate flowers.

इसलिए "give birth to live young ones" Aves के लिए NOT correct है।

Previous Year Question
Which of the following characteristics is NOT of Aves?
  1. They have four-chambered heart.
  2. These are warm-blooded animals.
  3. They give birth to live young ones with some exceptions those lay eggs.
  4. They breathe through the lungs
Solution
Aves (birds) are oviparous — they lay eggs rather than giving birth to live young ones. Therefore, option (b) is incorrect for Aves.

Lysosome = hydrolytic enzymes, intracellular digestion।

Previous Year Question
Which cell organelle is defined as the small round organelle that undergoes oxidation reaction to produce hydrogen peroxide?
  1. Nucleus
  2. Centrosome
  3. Peroxisomes
  4. Vacuole
Solution
Peroxisomes are small, round organelles found in cells that carry out oxidation reactions and produce hydrogen peroxide as a byproduct, which is then broken down by catalase.
