SSC GD के लिए त्रुटि पहचान — Spotting Errors की पूरी रणनीति

intermediate 20 min read

Error Patterns

SSC GD के पिछले papers को देखो — errors पाँच categories में cluster होती हैं:

1. Parallel Structure की गलती

यह SSC GD का सबसे ज़्यादा repeat होने वाला pattern है।

नियम: जब एक वाक्य में दो या अधिक actions, qualities, या objects को और/or/but से जोड़ा जाए, तो उनका grammatical form एक जैसा होना चाहिए।

उदाहरण:

यहाँ fishing और boating gerunds (-ing form) हैं, इसलिए तीसरा भी gerund होना चाहिए।

एक और important type: जब तुम "other" देखो और पहले वाले items nouns हों —

2. Ellipsis / Incomplete Comparison की गलती

जब दो चीज़ें compare होती हैं और एक auxiliary verb (have/had/is/was) को दोनों clauses में इस्तेमाल करना हो, तो तुम उसे short नहीं कर सकते जब तक दोनों sides का form एक जैसा न हो।

उदाहरण:

यहाँ "have" के बाद "done" ज़रूरी है क्योंकि "have + bare verb" नहीं चलता।

3. Comparison Errors — "as bad as" vs "as bad or worse"

Comparison में यह trap बहुत आती है:

नियम: "as...as" और "worse...than" दो अलग-अलग comparison structures हैं। इन्हें mix करके shortcut नहीं बना सकते। दोनों को या तो पूरा लिखो या किसी एक को चुनो।

4. Dangling / Ambiguous Pronoun Reference

जब वाक्य में एक subject पहले से हो और बाद में pronoun आए — pronoun को clearly उसी subject को refer करना चाहिए।

उदाहरण:

5. Misplaced Phrase / Inverted Word Order

कभी-कभी एक phrase को sentence के बीच में डाल दिया जाता है जो actually end में होना चाहिए, या vice versa।

उदाहरण:

यहाँ "with the financial difficulties" phrase को "more to do" के तुरंत बाद आना चाहिए था।

Subject के साथ "along with" का Trap

नियम: जब subject के साथ "along with / as well as / together with" जोड़ा जाए, तो verb पहले वाले subject के अनुसार होती है।

उदाहरण:

"along with" और Tense की असली गलती

जब "The deceased lord" subject है और "started" verb है, तो tense सही लग सकता है। लेकिन असली trick यह है: context को देखो। यदि "deceased" (स्वर्गीय) है, तो past tense ही सही है। लेकिन इस वाक्य में error किस part में है? — यह PYQ section में देखो।

शॉर्टकट और युक्तियाँ

patternParallel List Scanner

जब भी वाक्य में "and", "or", "but" से जुड़ी list दिखे, तुरंत list के हर item का form check करो। सभी nouns हैं? सभी gerunds? सभी infinitives? अगर एक item का form अलग है — वही error है। Standard method: पूरा वाक्य पढ़ो और grammar सोचो = 40 seconds. इस shortcut से: सीधे list के items को underline करो और form match करो = 10 seconds.

patternHave/Had Completeness Check

जब "have + [verb] + and + are/is + [verb]-ing" दिखे, तो "have" के बाद Past Participle (done/been/sent) ज़रूर होना चाहिए। अगर नहीं है — वही error है। उदाहरण: "have and are still doing" → "have done and are still doing". Standard: grammar rule याद करना = 30 seconds. इस pattern को पहचानना = 5 seconds.

eliminationDouble Comparison Trap

"as [adj] or [comparative]" pattern देखते ही रुको। यह हमेशा गलत है। सही form है: "as [adj] as... or [comparative]...than..." — दोनों particles (as/than) ज़रूर आने चाहिए। बस "as...or" देखो — option (a) mark करो। 4 options पढ़ने की ज़रूरत नहीं = 5 steps की बचत.

patternPronoun Ambiguity Detector

जब वाक्य में दो nouns हों और बाद में "he/she/they" आए — check करो: क्या pronoun clearly किसी एक noun को point करता है? अगर दोनों में से किसी को भी refer कर सकता है — वही error है। Keyword देखो: "While in conversation with [person A], [pronoun] told me" → error. Standard: पूरा syntax analyze = 35 seconds. Pattern check = 8 seconds.

patternMisplaced Preposition Finder

"more to do with" एक fixed phrase है। अगर "with" वाक्य के अंत में जा रहा है और "than" बीच में आ गया है — phrase टूट गई है, यही error है। Rule: "have more to do with X than Y" — X और Y की position fix है। इस sequence को check करने में = 6 seconds, पूरे वाक्य की grammar analyze करने में = 45 seconds.

तेज़-समाधान रूपरेखा

परीक्षा हॉल में इस क्रम से काम करो:

Step 1 — List देखो (3 seconds): क्या वाक्य में "and/or/but" से जुड़ी list है? हाँ → Parallel Structure check करो।

Step 2 — "have/had" देखो (3 seconds): क्या "have + [something] + and + are/is + [verb]-ing" है? हाँ → "have" के बाद Past Participle missing है।

Step 3 — Comparison देखो (3 seconds): "as [adj] or [comparative]" pattern दिखा? हाँ → Error is here, option (a) likely.

Step 4 — Pronoun देखो (3 seconds): दो nouns हैं और बाद में pronoun है? → Check ambiguity.

Step 5 — Preposition/Phrase Order देखो (3 seconds): "more to do" दिखा? → Check "with" की position.

अगर पाँचों steps में कुछ नहीं मिला, तब वाक्य को पूरा पढ़ो और Subject-Verb Agreement check करो।

कुल time: 15-20 seconds per question — यह realistic है।

हल किए गए PYQs

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Double comparison का classic trap — "as bad or worse" एक incomplete structure है जो SSC में बार-बार आती है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
I have seen as bad or worse scenes of disorder at the English fair than in any other Australian mining town. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. as bad or
  2. disorder at the
  3. than in any other
  4. Australian mining town.
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: सीधे "as bad or worse" देखते ही रुको। "as bad" के लिए "as" चाहिए बाद में, और "worse" के लिए "than" चाहिए। दोनों particles absent हैं — error part (a) में है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Parallel Structure — gerunds की list में "other sports" कैसे fit होता है, यह समझना ज़रूरी है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
The officers are now perfectly happy fishing, boating, shooting, playing cricket and other sports. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. now
  2. perfectly
  3. playing cricket
  4. other sports
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: List देखो: fishing, boating, shooting, playing cricket — सभी gerunds. "other sports" noun phrase है, gerund नहीं। Error part (d) में है। सही form: "playing other sports" होगा।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Pronoun ambiguity — "he" किसे refer कर रहा है यह unclear है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
While in conversation with a high military officer he told me that at the headquarters nothing was known. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. with a
  2. he told me that
  3. at the headquarters
  4. was known.
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: "While in conversation with a high military officer" — इस clause में दो लोग हैं: speaker और officer. बाद में "he told me" — "he" ambiguous है। Error part (b) में है। सही form: "the officer told me" या "I was told" होगा।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Misplaced prepositional phrase — "more to do with" का structure टूटा हुआ है।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
The fear of an impending invasion has more to do than even the debasing of the coinage with the financial difficulties. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. The fear
  2. impending invasion
  3. than even the debasing of the coinage
  4. financial difficulties.
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: Fixed phrase "more to do with X than Y" — यहाँ "than even the debasing of the coinage" बीच में आ गया है और "with the financial difficulties" अंत में गई है। Phrase का order inverted है। Error part (c) में है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Incomplete auxiliary verb — "have + bare verb" नहीं चलता।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
His assistants have and are still doing excellent work for the organization. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. have and
  2. are still doing
  3. excellent work
  4. for the
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: "have and are still doing" — "have" के बाद verb form missing है। "have done and are still doing" होना चाहिए। "have doing" grammatically impossible है। Error part (a) में है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: यह उसी "have or" pattern का दूसरा उदाहरण है — एक ही exam में दोनों variations आए।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
There is something more in the fact that the guns have or are about to be sent abroad. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. more in the fact
  2. that the guns
  3. have or
  4. are about to be sent abroad.
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: "have or are about to be sent" — "have" के बाद Past Participle "been sent" missing है। सही: "have been or are about to be sent". Error part (c) में है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: "along with" के बाद verb agreement और tense — एक deceptive question।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
The deceased lord along with his brother started a business in India. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. The
  2. along with his brother
  3. started a
  4. in India.
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: Subject "The deceased lord" singular है, "along with his brother" को ignore करो — verb singular होनी चाहिए, "started" singular past है, यह सही है। लेकिन "started a" में error यह है: past में business "started" हुआ था — proper tense context के साथ यह part error point है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: Parallel Structure में "to other similar" — preposition का repetition issue।

Previous Year Questionपिछले वर्ष का प्रश्न2023
He relieved the monotony of book peddling by becoming an assistant to a conjuror or to other similar engagements. (a) (b) (c) (d)
  1. relieved
  2. book peddling
  3. becoming an assistant to a conjuror or
  4. to other similar
Solutionसमाधान

समाधान का रास्ता: "becoming an assistant to a conjuror or to other similar engagements" — यहाँ "assistant to" phrase है। "engagements" के साथ "assistant to" grammatically awkward है — "to other similar engagements" में preposition का misuse है। Correct form: "or engaging in other similar work". Error part (d) में है।
