intermediate 22 min read

| प्रकार | उदाहरण | संकेत | |--------|---------|-------| | Universal Affirmative | सभी A, B हैं | All A are B | | Universal Negative | कोई A, B नहीं है | No A is B | | Particular Affirmative | कुछ A, B हैं | Some A are B | | Particular Negative | कुछ A, B नहीं हैं | Some A are not B |

Venn Diagram

सभी A, B हैं + सभी B, C हैं → सभी A, C हैं

Chain बनती है: A ⊆ B ⊆ C, इसलिए A ⊆ C।

कुछ A, B हैं + सभी B, C हैं → कुछ A, C हैं

इसलिए वे A भी C हैं → कुछ A, C हैं।

सभी A, B हैं + कोई B, C नहीं है → कोई A, C नहीं है

कुछ A, B हैं + कोई B, C नहीं है → कुछ A, C नहीं हैं

कोई A, B नहीं है → कोई B, A नहीं है

Universal Negative

कुछ A, B हैं → कुछ B, A हैं

Either-Or की condition:

उदाहरण: "कुछ A, B हैं" और "कोई A, B नहीं है" — ये complementary pair हैं।

कुछ A, B हैं + कुछ C, D हैं → कोई निष्कर्ष नहीं (A, B, C, D सब अलग-अलग)

Negative + Negative =

उदाहरण: "कुछ A, B हैं + कुछ B, C हैं" — Venn diagram में A और C overlap भी हो सकते हैं, नहीं भी।

  • "कोई A, B नहीं" → "कोई B, A नहीं" (हमेशा valid)
  • "कुछ A, B हैं" → "कुछ B, A हैं" (हमेशा valid)
  • "सभी A, B हैं" → "कुछ B, A हैं" (valid, पर "सभी B, A हैं" नहीं)

IV ("Some buses are tigers")

eliminationEither-Or Detector — Complementary Pair पहचानो

Micro-example: "Some fruits are boxes" और "No fruits are boxes" — अगर कोई direct chain नहीं बनती, तो "Either I or IV follows।"

Standard Venn approach: 50+ seconds।

Chain: A → B → C

patternAll + No = No (पूरी तरह block)

"सभी A, B हैं + कोई B, C नहीं" → "कोई A, C नहीं"

(10 sec) All+All=All / Some+All=Some / All+No=No / Some+No=Some Not

Step 4 — Reverse check करो (5 sec) "No A is B" → "No B is A" valid। "Some A is B" → "Some B is A" valid। "All A is B" → "Some B is A" valid (पर All नहीं)।

Total: 30 seconds per question। 5 questions → 2.5 minutes।

Chain 1: boxes → trees (Some) + trees → horses (Some) → दो Particular = कोई निश्चित chain नहीं (boxes और horses के बीच)

Chain 2: trees → horses (Some) + horses → fruits (All) → Some+All = Some → कुछ trees fruits हैं → Reverse: कुछ fruits trees हैंConclusion II follows।

Conclusion I (Some fruits are boxes) और IV (No fruits are boxes): ये complementary pair हैं (both have same subject-predicate, one +ve one -ve)। → Either I or IV follows।

Conclusion III (Some horses are boxes): boxes → trees (Some) + trees → horses (Some) — दो Particular, कोई निष्कर्ष नहीं। III नहीं आता।

Previous Year Question
Statements: Some boxes are trees. Some trees are horses. All horses are fruits. Conclusions: I. Some fruits are boxes. II. Some fruits are trees. III. Some horses are boxes IV. No fruits are boxes.
  1. None follows
  2. Only either II or IV follows
  3. Only either I or IV and II follow
  4. Only either I or III and IV follow
Solution

Chain: cats → tigers (All) → कुछ buses cats हैं + सभी cats tigers हैं → Some+All = Some → कुछ buses tigers हैं → Conclusion IV follows। Reverse: कुछ tigers buses हैं → Conclusion I follows।

Conclusion II (Some tigers are flowers): flowers → buses (Some buses are cats) + cats → tigers। यहाँ flowers से buses तक All है, पर buses से cats तक Some है, फिर cats से tigers तक All है। Chain: All+Some → कुछ flowers उन buses में हैं जो cats हो सकते हैं या नहीं भी। यह definite नहीं। Conclusion II नहीं आता।

Conclusion III (Some cats are flowers): flowers → buses (All), buses → cats (Some)। All+Some से direct chain नहीं बनती इस direction में। Conclusion III नहीं आता।

Previous Year Question
Statements: All flowers are buses. Some buses are cats. All cats are tigers. Conclusions: I. Some tigers are buses. II. Some tigers are flowers. III. Some cats are flowers. IV. Some buses are tigers.
  1. None follows
  2. Only I and II follow
  3. Only III and IV follow
  4. Only I and IV follow
Solution

क्यों यह प्रश्न: All+No combination का perfect example।

Chain: fans → rooms (All) + rooms → green (No) → All+No = Noकोई fan green नहीं है। IV follows।

Conclusion I (Some windows are fans): windows → green (Some) + green → fan (No — reverse of "कोई fan green नहीं") → Some+No = Some windows fans नहीं हैं। I नहीं आता।

Conclusion II (Some windows are rooms): windows → green (Some), green → room (No। windows → green → rooms के बीच "No" है। II नहीं आता।

Conclusion III (Some fans are green): fans → rooms → green में "No" block है। III नहीं आता।

Previous Year Question
Statements: All fans are rooms. No room is green. Some windows are green. Conclusions: I. Some windows are fans. II. Some windows are rooms. III. Some fans are green. IV. No green is fan.
  1. Only I follows
  2. Only III follows
  3. Only IV follows
  4. Only II and IV follow
Solution

Chain A: tablets → rains (Some) + rains → chairs (All) → Some+All = Someकुछ tablets chairs हैंConclusion IV follows। Reverse: कुछ chairs tablets हैं → Conclusion I follows।

Chain B: dogs → rains (All) + rains → chairs (All) → All+All = Allसभी dogs chairs हैंConclusion II follows।

Conclusion III (Some tablets are dogs): tablets → rains (Some), dogs → rains (All)।

तो I, II, IV follow करते हैं। Answer: "None of these" क्योंकि कोई option I+II+IV नहीं था।

Previous Year Question
Statements: Some tablets are rains. All dogs are rains. All rains are chairs. Conclusions: I. Some chairs are tablets. II. All dogs are chairs. III. Some tablets are dogs. IV. Some tablets are chairs.
  1. All follow
  2. Only I, II and III follow
  3. Only II, III and IV follow
  4. None of these
Solution

Conclusion I (No road is man): हमें पता है "कुछ roads men हैं" (Reverse of statement 3)। तो "No road is man" गलत है। I नहीं आता।

Conclusion II (No road is sky): यह statement 2 का ही reverse है — II follows।

Conclusion III (Some skies are men): sky → man में "No" है (statement 1 का reverse)। III नहीं आता।

Conclusion IV (All roads are men): हमें पता है कुछ roads men हैं, पर सभी roads men हैं — यह definite नहीं। IV नहीं आता।

तो only II follows। Answer: "None of these" क्योंकि दिए गए options में "Only II follows" नहीं था।

Previous Year Question
Statements: No man is sky. No sky is road. Some men are roads. Conclusions: I. No road is man. II. No road is sky. III. Some skies are men. IV. All roads are men.
  1. None follows
  2. Only I follows
  3. Only I and III follow
  4. None of these
Solution

Chain A: papers → magazines (Some) + magazines → books (All) → Some+All = Someकुछ papers books हैं → Reverse: कुछ books papers हैंConclusion II follows।

Chain B: magazines → books (All) → Reverse: कुछ books magazines हैंConclusion I follows।

Conclusion III (Some magazines are pages): pages → papers (Some) + papers → magazines (Some) — दो Particular = कोई निश्चित chain नहीं। III नहीं आता।

Conclusion IV (Some pages are magazines): pages → papers → magazines — दोनों Some+Some।

Answer: "None of these" क्योंकि given options में "Only I and II follow" option नहीं था।

Previous Year Question
Statement: Some pages are papers. Some papers are magazines. All magazines are books. Conclusions: I. Some books are magazines. II. Some books are papers. III. Some magazines are pages. IV. Some pages are magazines.
  1. All follow
  2. Only I and III follow
  3. Only II and IV follow
  4. None of these
Solution

क्यों यह प्रश्न: "No door is a lock" के reverse का इस्तेमाल निष्कर्ष check करने में।

Conclusion I (Some locks are doors): "कोई lock door नहीं" (reverse of statement 2)। I गलत है।

Conclusion II (Some locks are not doors): "कोई lock door नहीं" → इसका मतलब है सभी locks doors नहीं हैंकुछ locks doors नहीं हैं भी सच है। II follows।

Conclusion III (Some keys are not doors): keys → locks (Some — reverse of statement 3) + locks → doors (No)। Some+No = Some keys doors नहीं हैं। III follows।

Conclusion IV (All doors are windows): Statement 1 में "सभी windows doors हैं" — reverse केवल "कुछ doors windows हैं" होता है, "All doors are windows" नहीं।

Answer: "None of these।"

Previous Year Question
Statements: All windows are doors. No door is a lock. Some locks are keys. Conclusions: I. Some locks are doors. II. Some locks are not doors. III. Some keys are not doors. IV. All doors are windows.
  1. All follow.
  2. Only either I or II follows
  3. Only either I or II and III follow
  4. None of these
Solution

क्यों यह प्रश्न: "Some+All" chain का perfect example — और यह देखना कि कौन-से conclusions directly follow करते हैं।

Chain: shirts → coats (Some) + coats → jackets (All) → Some+All = Someकुछ shirts jackets हैंConclusion I follows। Reverse: कुछ jackets shirts हैंConclusion II follows।

Conclusion III (All trousers are jackets): हमें पता है "कुछ jackets trousers हैं" — इससे "All trousers are jackets" सिद्ध नहीं होता। III नहीं आता।

Conclusion IV (Some trousers are jackets): यह statement 3 का ही reverse है। IV follows।

Previous Year Question
Statements: Some shirts are coats. All coats are jackets. Some jackets are trousers. Conclusions: I. Some shirts are jackets. II. Some jackets are shirts. III. All trousers are jackets. IV. Some trousers are jackets.
