SSC MTS

इन्हें A, E, I, O से पहचाना जाता है:

| प्रकार | कथन | उदाहरण | |--------|-----|---------| | A | All S are P (सर्वव्यापी सकारात्मक) | सभी कुत्ते जानवर हैं | | E | No S is P (सर्वव्यापी नकारात्मक) | कोई कुत्ता बिल्ली नहीं है | | I | Some S are P (विशेष सकारात्मक) | कुछ कुत्ते काले हैं | | O | Some S are not P (विशेष नकारात्मक) | कुछ कुत्ते काले नहीं हैं |

नियम 1 — A का conversion: All S are PSome P are S (A से I बनता है) उदाहरण: "All Z are Y" → "Some Y are Z" ✓

नियम 2 — E का conversion: No S is PNo P is S (E से E बनता है) उदाहरण: "No A is B" → "No B is A" ✓

नियम 3 — I का conversion: Some S are PSome P are S (I से I बनता है) उदाहरण: "Some rat are wild" → "Some wild are rat" ✓

Some S are not P → इसका valid conversion नहीं होता।

Possibility conclusion

Venn Diagram

"Some...not" और "No" का अंतर

यदि कथनों से केवल यह सिद्ध होता है कि "Some B are not C", तो निष्कर्ष "No B is C" कभी follow नहीं करेगा — वह overstatement है।

patternI + I = शून्य नियम

उदाहरण: "Some tablets are laptops. Some laptops are computers." — इन दोनों से "Some tablets are computers" सिद्ध नहीं होता।

Shortcut: दोनों statements I-type देखते ही "No definite conclusion" option तुरंत check करो — 8 सेकंड।

Step count: Standard = 6 steps, Shortcut = 1 step।

उदाहरण: कथन = "All Z are Y", निष्कर्ष = "Some Z are Y"। देखते ही पहचानो: "All Z are Y" का conversion = "Some Y are Z" (✓), और A-type का I-type conversion = "Some Z are Y" भी valid है क्योंकि All में Some समाहित है।

Shortcut: "All S are P" → तुरंत दो निष्कर्ष valid मानो: (1) Some P are S, (2) Some S are P — 10 सेकंड।

Step count: Standard = 4 steps, Shortcut = 1 mental check।

eliminationPossibility Trap Detector

यदि निष्कर्ष है "Some restaurants are buildings is a possibility" और कथन में "No restaurant is a building" नहीं दिया है — तो यह possibility follow करता है।

Elimination process: पहले देखो क्या "No X is Y" या "All X are not Y" दिया है।

Shortcut: Contradiction check only — 15 सेकंड।

patternAll A are B → दोनों direction check करो

जब कथन में "All A are B" हो, तो दो निष्कर्ष automatically सिद्ध होते हैं:

  1. "Some A are B" (✓ — All में Some समाहित है)
  2. "Some B are A" (✓ — I-type conversion)

SSC MTS में अक्सर निष्कर्ष III के रूप में "Some Z are Y" दिया जाता है जब कथन में "All Z are Y" हो।

Standard method: Formal logic check — 30 सेकंड। Shortcut: "All" देखो → तुरंत दोनों "Some" निष्कर्ष valid — 5 सेकंड।

उदाहरण: "Some C are B" + "No A is B" → इससे A और C के बारे में कुछ निश्चित नहीं कहा जा सकता (क्योंकि C के कुछ elements ही B हैं, सभी नहीं)।

लेकिन: "All C are D" + "Some C are B" → "Some D are B" ज़रूर follow करता है, क्योंकि जो C हैं वे D भी हैं, और कुछ C, B हैं, इसलिए कुछ D, B हैं।

Elimination rule: Middle term universal हो (All/No) तभी chain बनती है।

"All" = A, "No" = E, "Some...are" = I, "Some...are not" = O।

Previous Year Question
Statement: I. All players are Singers. II. All Dancers are Singers. Conclusion: I. Some Singers are Dancers. II. Some Dancers are Players.
  1. Only conclusion I follows
  2. Only conclusion II follows
  3. Both conclusion I & II follow.
  4. Neither conclusion I nor II follows.
Solution
From 'All Dancers are Singers,' by conversion 'Some Singers are Dancers' (Conclusion I follows). Conclusion II ('Some Dancers are Players') cannot be established because there is no direct link between Dancers and Players in the given statements. Only Conclusion I follows.

II "All Dancers are Singers" — यह A-type है। इसका conversion = "Some Singers are Dancers" → निष्कर्ष I सिद्ध।

Previous Year Question
Statements: I. No A is B. II. All C are D. III. Some C are B. Conclusions: I. Some D are B. II. Some B are C. III. All C are B.
  1. Both conclusions I and II follow.
  2. Only conclusion II follows.
  3. Only conclusion III follows.
  4. Both conclusions I and III follow.
Solution
From 'Some C are B' and 'All C are D,' some D are B (Conclusion I follows). From 'Some C are B,' by conversion 'Some B are C' (Conclusion II follows). Conclusion III ('All C are B') is an overstatement not supported. Both Conclusions I and II follow.

III "Some C are B" + कथन II "All C are D" → जो C हैं वे D भी हैं, और कुछ C, B हैं → "Some D are B" (निष्कर्ष I ✓)। III "Some C are B" का I-type conversion = "Some B are C" (निष्कर्ष II ✓)। III "All C are B" एक overstatement है — कथन में केवल "Some C are B" है।

Previous Year Question
Statements: I. Some red are rat. II. Some rat are wild. Conclusions: I. Some wild are rat. II. All wild are rat. III. Some red are wild.
  1. None of the conclusions follows.
  2. Only conclusion III follows.
  3. Only conclusion I follows.
  4. Only conclusion II follows.
Solution
From 'Some rat are wild,' by conversion 'Some wild are rat' (Conclusion I follows). Conclusion II is an overgeneralization. Conclusion III cannot be established as there's no direct link between red and wild established by the two 'Some' statements. Only Conclusion I follows.

II "Some rat are wild" का conversion = "Some wild are rat" → निष्कर्ष I ✓। II "All wild are rat" एक overstatement है — "Some" से "All" नहीं निकलता। दोनों कथन I-type हैं ("Some red are rat" और "Some rat are wild") → इनसे Red और Wild के बीच कोई direct chain नहीं बनती → निष्कर्ष III follow नहीं करता।

Previous Year Question
Statements: 1. Some instruments are machines. 2. All instruments are gadgets. Conclusions: I. No machine is a gadget II. Some machines are gadgets.
  1. Either conclusion I or conclusion II follows
  2. Only conclusion I follows
  3. Neither conclusion I nor conclusion II follows
  4. Only conclusion II follows
Solution
From 'Some instruments are machines' and 'All instruments are gadgets,' some machines are gadgets (Conclusion II follows). Conclusion I directly contradicts this. Only Conclusion II follows.

I "Some instruments are machines" + कथन II "All instruments are gadgets" → जो instruments हैं वे gadgets भी हैं, और कुछ instruments, machines हैं → "Some machines are gadgets" (निष्कर्ष II ✓)। I "No machine is a gadget" — यह निष्कर्ष II का सीधा विरोध (contradiction) है।

Previous Year Question
Statements: 1. All buildings are shops. 2. Some shops are boutiques. 3. No restaurant is a boutique. Conclusions: I. Some boutiques are buildings. II. Some restaurants being buildings is a possibility. III. No restaurant is a shop.
  1. Only conclusion II follows
  2. Only conclusions II and III follow
  3. Only conclusion I follows
  4. Only conclusions I and II follow
Solution
From the given statements, the boutiques that are shops may or may not be buildings — we cannot definitively say some boutiques are buildings (Conclusion I is not certain). No restaurant is a boutique, but restaurants could still be shops, so Conclusion III is too strong. Since restaurants are not established as boutiques or buildings, some restaurants could possibly be buildings (Conclusion II is a possibility). Only Conclusion II follows.

I "Some boutiques are buildings" — कथनों से boutiques जो shops हैं, वे buildings हो भी सकती हैं, नहीं भी — यह definite नहीं है, follow नहीं करता। III "No restaurant is a shop" — कथन में केवल "No restaurant is a boutique" है, shops के बारे में कोई प्रतिबंध नहीं → यह overstatement है। II "Some restaurants being buildings is a possibility" — कथनों में कोई statement नहीं है जो restaurants को buildings से सीधे exclude करे → Possibility valid है, follow करता है।

क्यों यह प्रश्न: यह I + I = zero rule का SSC MTS 2021 में सबसे clean उदाहरण है।

Previous Year Question
Statements: Some tablets are laptops. Some laptops are computers. Conclusions: I. Some tablets are computers. II. Some laptops are not tablets.
  1. Neither conclusion I nor II follows
  2. Both conclusions I and II follow
  3. Only conclusion II follows
  4. Only conclusion I follows
Solution
Two 'Some' statements do not establish a definite link between tablets and computers (Conclusion I cannot be established). Conclusion II ('Some laptops are not tablets') is also not provable — it may or may not be the case. Neither conclusion definitively follows.

I-type ("Some tablets are laptops", "Some laptops are computers") → इनसे Tablets और Computers के बीच कोई निश्चित link नहीं बनता → निष्कर्ष I follow नहीं करता। II "Some laptops are not tablets" — यह "Some tablets are laptops" का negation नहीं है, लेकिन इसे prove भी नहीं किया जा सकता। Neither conclusion follows।

Previous Year Question
Statements: I. Some blue are red. II. Some green are red. Conclusions: I. No blue is green. II. No red is green.
  1. Only conclusion I follows
  2. Neither conclusion I nor II follows
  3. Only conclusion II follows
  4. Both conclusions I and II follow
Solution
The statements only establish that some blue are red and some green are red, but provide no information about the relationship between blue and green directly, nor do they exclude green from red. Neither Conclusion I nor Conclusion II can be established from the given statements.

I "Some blue are red" और कथन II "Some green are red" — दोनों में Red, middle term है। लेकिन Red के ज़रिए Blue और Green को connect करने के लिए कम से कम एक statement में "All red are..." II "No red is green" — कथनों में इसका कोई आधार नहीं → follow नहीं करता।

Previous Year Question
Statements: I. All Z are Y. II. Some Y and B. Conclusion: I. Some B are not Z. II. Some Y are not Z. III. Some Z are Y.
  1. Both conclusions II and III follows
  2. All conclusion follows.
  3. Only conclusion III follows
  4. Both conclusions I and III follows
Solution
From 'All Z are Y,' by conversion 'Some Z are Y' (Conclusion III follows). Conclusions I and II cannot be firmly established from the given statements. Only Conclusion III follows.

I "All Z are Y" → इसका conversion = "Some Y are Z", और इसमें "Some Z are Y" भी समाहित है (क्योंकि All में Some आता है) → निष्कर्ष III "Some Z are Y" ✓। I "Some B are not Z" — कथन II "Some Y are B" और कथन I "All Z are Y" से यह निश्चित रूप से सिद्ध नहीं होता। II "Some Y are not Z" — यह भी definite नहीं है।
