intermediate 18 min read

इन्हें A, E, I, O से पहचाना जाता है:

नियम 1: A + A → A "सभी Pen, Cup हैं" + "सभी Cup, Chair हैं" → "सभी Pen, Chair हैं" ✓

नियम 3: I + A → I "कुछ Camera, Phone हैं" + "सभी Phone, Laptop हैं" → "कुछ Camera, Laptop हैं" ✓

नियम 5: Some + Some → कुछ नहीं निकलता "कुछ Carpet, Steel हैं" + "कुछ Steel, Bottle हैं" → Carpet और Bottle के बीच कोई निश्चित निष्कर्ष नहीं।

Venn Diagram

जब भी "All A are B" दिखे, तुरंत याद करो: इसका valid conversion है "Some B are A" — न कि "All B are A"।

परीक्षा में option होता है "All Cups are Pens" जब कथन था "All Pens are Cups"।

pattern'No + No = Nothing' — दोहरे नकार का जाल

"No soap is a lotion" + "No lotion is a conditioner" → Soap

elimination'Some + Some = Nothing' — आंशिक का जाल

"Some A are B" + "Some B are C" से "Some A are C" नहीं निकलता।

उदाहरण: "Some Carpets are Steel" + "Some Steel are Bottles" → Carpet और Bottle का overlap guaranteed नहीं।

A→B→C type (All pens are cups + All cups are chairs):

Step 1: Middle term identify करो (cups) Step 2: A+A combination → निष्कर्ष A type (All pens are chairs) Step 3: Conversion → Some cups are pens (I type)

pattern'All A are B' से 'Some B are A' — Immediate Inference

  • "All Pens are Cups" → तुरंत लिखो: "Some Cups are Pens" ✓
  • "Some Cameras are Phones" → तुरंत लिखो: "Some Phones are Cameras" ✓
  • "No Phone is Laptop" → तुरंत लिखो: "No Laptop is Phone" ✓

Standard method: Venn diagram (3 steps).

Step 2: Pattern check

Previous Year Question
Statements: I. All pens are cups. II. All cups are chairs. Conclusions: I. All pens are chairs. II. Some cups are pens.
  1. Both conclusions follow.
  2. Neither conclusion (I) nor conclusion (II) follows.
  3. Only conclusion (I) follows.
  4. Only conclusion (II) follows.
Solution
From 'All pens are cups' and 'All cups are chairs', it follows that all pens are chairs (Conclusion I). Also, since all pens are cups, some cups must be pens (Conclusion II). Both conclusions are valid.

Previous Year Question
Read the given statements and conclusions carefully. Assuming that the information given in the statements is true, decide which of the given conclusions logically follow(s) from the statements. Statements: No soap is a lotion. No lotion is a conditioner. Conclusions: (I) No soap is a conditioner. (II) Some conditioners are lotions.
  1. Only conclusion I follows
  2. Neither conclusion I nor II follows
  3. Only conclusion II follows
  4. Both conclusion I and II follow
Solution
From 'No soap is a lotion' and 'No lotion is a conditioner', we cannot definitively conclude that no soap is a conditioner (there may be other connections), and conclusion II contradicts the second statement. Hence neither conclusion follows.

Previous Year Question
Read the given statements and conclusions carefully. Assuming that the information given in the statements is true, even if it appears to be at variance with commonly known facts, decide which of the given conclusions logically follow(s) from the statements. Statements: Some cameras are phones. No phone is a laptop. Conclusions: (I) Some phones are cameras. (II) Some laptops are phones.
  1. Both conclusion I and II follow
  2. Only conclusion II follows
  3. Neither conclusion I nor II follows
  4. Only conclusion I follows
Solution
From 'Some cameras are phones,' it directly follows by conversion that 'Some phones are cameras' (Conclusion I is true). Since no phone is a laptop, no laptops can be phones, so Conclusion II is false.

क्यों यह प्रश्न: "Some + Some" combination का जाल और "All" के Conversion की गलती — दोनों एक साथ।

Previous Year Question
Read the given statements and conclusions carefully. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. You have to decide which conclusion/s logically follow/s from the given statements. Statements: All rags are carpets. Some carpets are steel. Some steel are bottles. Conclusion I: All carpets are rags. Conclusion II: Some carpets are bottles.
  1. Neither conclusion (I) nor (II) is follow.
  2. Only conclusion (I) is follow.
  3. Both conclusions (I) and (II) are follow.
  4. Only conclusion (II) is follow.
Solution
Conclusion I is invalid because 'All rags are carpets' doesn't mean all carpets are rags. Conclusion II cannot be established since 'some carpets are steel' and 'some steel are bottles' doesn't guarantee overlap between carpets and bottles.

Previous Year Question
Read the given statement(s) and conclusions carefully. Assuming that the information given in the statements is true, even if it appears to be at variance with commonly known facts, decide which of the given conclusions logically follow(s) from the statements(s). Statements: All chocolates are sweets. Some sweets are harmful. Conclusions: (I) All Chocolates are harmful. (II) Some harmful are chocolates.
  1. Only conclusion (I) is follows.
  2. Both conclusion (I) and (II) are follows.
  3. Only conclusion (II) is follows.
  4. Neither conclusion (I) nor (II) is follows.
Solution
Since only some sweets are harmful, we cannot conclude all chocolates are harmful (I is false). Also, we cannot confirm any harmful things are chocolates (II is false). Neither conclusion follows.
