Use this to find the total number of people when it's not directly given.

In a line of 20, Arun is 8th from left. How many are to his right? Answer: 20 - 8 = 12 people to the right. How many between Arun (8th) and Priya (15th)? Distance = 15 - 8 - 1 = 6 people between them.
Common Question Patterns in SSC CGL
SSC repeats certain question structures. The most frequent: 'X is at position Y from left, find position from right' (direct reversal). Second most common: 'X is Yth from left, Z is Wth from right, find total' (overlap). Third: 'Between A and B are 5 people, A is 3rd from left, find B's position' (distance logic). Rarely, they ask about rank changes or swaps, which require careful re-reading.
