How can one determine the relative humidity on a particular day at a given place?

Relative humidity is the ratio of the actual amount of water vapour present in the air (absolute humidity) to the maximum amount the air can hold at that temperature (saturation humidity), expressed as a percentage. The saturation capacity depends on temperature. Therefore, to compute relative humidity one must know BOTH the absolute humidity and the temperature of the air.
