Man Kautuhal is a celebrated treatise on Indian music compiled under the patronage of Raja Man Singh Tomar of Gwalior (1486–1516). Raja Man Singh was himself a great patron of music and is credited with the development of the Dhrupad style. The work documents contemporary ragas and musical traditions, including new compositions of the Gwalior court.
