The Union Budget 2025-26 announced a 6-year Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses with a special focus on Tur (Arhar), Urad and Masoor. NAFED and NCCF will procure these three pulses at Minimum Support Price (MSP) from farmers during the next 4 years. The mission aims to reduce India's dependence on pulse imports and achieve self-reliance in pulse production. Soyabean is an oilseed, not a pulse, and Chana/Moong were not specifically named for the 100% procurement guarantee in this mission.
