The local people of the Tawa reservoir area organised to demand which right related to their livelihood in the 1990s?

The Tawa reservoir, created by a dam on the Tawa river in Madhya Pradesh, displaced local Adivasi communities. In the 1990s, the displaced local people organised themselves into the Tawa Matsya Sangh and demanded fishing rights in the reservoir as a source of livelihood. This is discussed in NCERT social and political life textbooks as an example of communities organising to claim livelihood rights. They were eventually granted fishing rights in 1996.
