The Adivaraha Cave Temple at Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram), excavated under the Pallavas, contains rare royal portrait panels of the Pallava kings Simhavishnu (with his queens) and Mahendravarman I (with his queens), each identified by accompanying labels.
