The PRASHAD scheme (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) provides assistance for the development of tourism infrastructures in States and Union Territories. Launched by the Ministry of Tourism in 2014-15, it focuses on the integrated development of identified pilgrimage destinations to enhance the tourist experience. The scheme provides Central Financial Assistance to State Governments and UT Administrations for projects involving infrastructure development like last-mile connectivity, basic tourist facilities, illumination, parking, and signage at identified pilgrimage and heritage sites across India.
