When did the Union Government establish a separate 'Ministry of Cooperation' with the vision of "Sahkar Se Samriddhi" ?

The Union Government established a separate Ministry of Cooperation on 6 July 2021. The new ministry was carved out of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare with the vision of "Sahkar Se Samriddhi" (Prosperity through Cooperation). It was created to provide a separate administrative, legal and policy framework for strengthening the cooperative movement in the country. Shri Amit Shah was appointed as the first Minister of Cooperation. The ministry aims to deepen cooperatives as a true people-based movement reaching to the grassroots.
